Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 8, 2026
Last Updated: September 8, 2026

Sleep To It respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use the Sleep To It mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Sleep To It is operated by Ryan Neu, a sole proprietor based in Massachusetts, United States (“Sleep To It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using Sleep To It, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Approach to Privacy

Sleep To It is designed to work without collecting unnecessary information about you.

In particular, Sleep To It does not currently collect or access:

  • HealthKit or Apple Health data;
  • heart rate or other health-sensor data;
  • microphone recordings for sleep monitoring;
  • measurements of whether or how long you actually sleep;
  • precise location;
  • your contacts;
  • photos or videos;
  • biometric information; or
  • advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking.

We store account-linked library and activity information to personalize Sleep To It and understand how its features are used. Downloaded audio and certain settings also remain on your device, as described below.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Sleep To It.

A. Account Information

The iPhone app uses an account to provide your personal experience. Public catalog listening is also available on our website.

Sleep To It currently uses Sign in with Apple for account authentication.

If you create an account, we may receive and store:

  • a unique account identifier;
  • the email address provided by Apple, which may be your actual email address or an Apple private relay address if you choose Hide My Email; and
  • authentication and account information necessary to maintain your account, including sign-up and sign-in timestamps and confirmed sign-outs.

We do not currently request your full name through Sign in with Apple.

Authentication information may be processed by third-party infrastructure and authentication providers that help us operate the Service. Authentication credentials or sessions may also be securely stored on your device.

B. Custom Sound and Music Requests

Sleep To It allows you to describe sounds or music that you would like the Service to create.

When you request custom audio, the readable text of your request is transmitted through our systems to a third-party audio-generation service provider so that the requested audio can be generated.

Our current production systems do not store the readable text of your creation prompt in our primary generation database. Instead, we may store information such as:

  • a one-way keyed or hashed representation of the prompt;
  • your account identifier and a hashed account or legacy session identifier;
  • the status and type of the generation request;
  • timestamps; and
  • information identifying the location of the generated audio.

The third-party audio-generation provider must receive the readable request in order to process it and create the requested audio. That provider may process and retain information according to its own terms, privacy practices, contractual obligations, and the configuration of the services we use.

Please do not include sensitive personal information, confidential information, or information about another person in a custom creation request.

C. Generated Audio

Generated audio may be stored privately on third-party cloud infrastructure used by Sleep To It so that we can:

  • deliver the audio to you;
  • recover interrupted requests;
  • retry failed requests;
  • maintain reliability; and
  • operate the Service.

A copy may also be stored or downloaded locally on your device.

Deleting an individual sound from your device does not necessarily delete a corresponding server-side copy of generated audio.

If you delete your Sleep To It account through the account-deletion feature, we will initiate deletion of account-associated generation records and generated audio under our control, subject to the limitations described in Section 9.

D. Library, Preferences, and App Activity

For signed-in iPhone users, we collect account-linked playlist names, sound selections and ordering, playlist duration and repeat settings, favorites, disliked sound identifiers, and preferred sound categories. We also collect app openings, playback starts and resumptions (including sound identifiers, categories, and playlist identifiers), and explicit sign-out requests. These records include timestamps and a randomly generated installation identifier.

We use this information to personalize your experience, understand which sounds and features are useful, and improve the Service. Playback activity does not tell us whether you are asleep, and we do not measure actual sleep or collect health data.

Activity can be queued securely on your device while offline and uploaded when you reconnect and are signed in. Client-reported events may be incomplete; a sign-out request is recorded separately from a confirmed server sign-out.

Downloaded audio, readable creation descriptions, mixes, and some local settings remain on your device. We do not currently provide automatic restoration of your library across devices; removing the app may still cause local information to be lost.

Deleting your account removes these account-linked playlist, preference, and activity records from our active database along with associated generation records, subject to the backup and other limitations described in Section 9.

E. Search Information

Searches of the Sleep To It audio catalog within the iOS app are currently performed locally on your device.

If you use search or similar features on the Sleep To It website, information you enter may be included in a webpage URL or ordinary server request and may consequently appear in infrastructure or operational logs.

F. Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase a Sleep+ subscription or another paid feature through Apple's App Store, Apple processes the payment.

Sleep To It does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.

We may use third-party subscription-management providers to help determine whether you have an active subscription or access to premium features.

These providers may process information such as:

  • an anonymous or account-associated user identifier;
  • subscription and purchase history;
  • App Store transaction or receipt information;
  • subscription status; and
  • limited technical information necessary to provide subscription-management services.

We receive subscription lifecycle notifications from RevenueCat and store account-linked subscription status and history, including trials, purchases, renewals, cancellations, billing issues, refunds, and expirations. We use these records to provide subscription functionality, analyze free and paid feature use, and personalize the Service. Test purchases are distinguished from production subscriptions.

G. Device, Network, and Operational Information

When you communicate with our servers, website, or infrastructure providers, we and our service providers may automatically process ordinary technical information associated with those requests.

This may include:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device or operating-system information;
  • request timestamps;
  • requested URLs;
  • server and network logs;
  • request status; and
  • information necessary to detect errors, abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

We use this information primarily to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Service.

3. Information We Do Not Currently Use for Advertising Tracking

Sleep To It does not currently integrate third-party advertising or attribution technologies into the iOS app for the purpose of tracking users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not currently use Apple's advertising identifier for cross-app tracking.

We may advertise Sleep To It through third-party advertising platforms. Advertising Sleep To It does not necessarily mean those services receive information about your activity inside the Sleep To It app.

If we later introduce advertising or attribution technologies that materially change how personal information is collected, shared, or used, we will update this Privacy Policy, make any required platform disclosures, and request any consent required by applicable law or platform rules.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information described in this Privacy Policy to:

  • provide and operate Sleep To It;
  • create sounds and music you request;
  • authenticate users and maintain accounts;
  • deliver and recover generated audio;
  • provide subscription features and verify premium access;
  • save or restore functionality where supported;
  • respond to support or privacy requests;
  • troubleshoot technical problems;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the Service;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use;
  • personalize sound recommendations and your in-app experience;
  • analyze use of sounds, playlists, and app features;
  • understand and improve the reliability and performance of the Service;
  • comply with applicable laws and legal obligations; and
  • enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not currently use health or sleep-measurement data because Sleep To It does not collect that information.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We may share or allow information to be processed by third-party service providers that help us operate Sleep To It, including providers of:

  • cloud hosting, storage, databases, and backend infrastructure;
  • account authentication;
  • artificial intelligence and audio-generation technology;
  • subscription management and payment-related services;
  • security, fraud prevention, and technical operations; and
  • website hosting and infrastructure.

For example, when you request custom audio, the text of your request is transmitted to a third-party audio-generation provider so that the requested content can be created.

These service providers may process personal information as necessary to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by their applicable agreements and privacy practices.

Apple also processes information when you use Sign in with Apple, download Sleep To It through the App Store, or make an App Store purchase.

We may also disclose information:

  • when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
  • when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Sleep To It, our users, or others;
  • to investigate fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of all or part of the Sleep To It business; or
  • with your direction or consent.

6. AI and Automated Audio Generation

Sleep To It uses automated and artificial-intelligence technologies to provide certain features.

Custom sound and music requests are processed using third-party audio-generation technology.

When you submit a creation request, the readable request must be transmitted to that provider so that its systems can generate the requested audio.

We do not promise that information submitted to third-party AI or audio-generation providers is immediately deleted, retained for a specific period, or excluded from all forms of service improvement unless we expressly state otherwise based on the applicable provider arrangement.

You should therefore avoid including sensitive, confidential, or personally identifying information in creation prompts.

Sleep To It may also use technologies that operate directly on your device to help interpret requests, match them with available content, or improve the user experience. Information processed entirely on your device is not collected by Sleep To It merely because that on-device processing occurs.

7. Notifications

Sleep To It may ask for permission to send notifications.

The current app may use local device notifications for features such as:

  • optional bedtime reminders; and
  • subscription or trial reminders.

These notifications are scheduled on your device.

Sleep To It does not currently operate a remote marketing push-notification system.

You can control notification permissions through your device settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

For example:

  • information stored only on your device remains there until you delete it, remove the app, or otherwise clear that information;
  • account information may remain while your account is active;
  • generated audio and associated generation records may remain on our infrastructure until deleted through our account-deletion processes or otherwise removed through our operational practices;
  • operational and security logs may be retained for a reasonable period; and
  • third-party service providers may retain information according to their own retention policies and contractual obligations.

We may retain information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, protect the Service, or establish or defend legal claims.

We may also retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it no longer reasonably identifies you.

9. Account and Data Deletion

If you have a Sleep To It account, you can initiate account deletion from within the app by going to:

Settings → Account → Delete Account

The deletion process is designed to:

  • revoke the associated Sign in with Apple authorization;
  • delete your Sleep To It account;
  • delete account-associated generation records and generated audio under our control; and
  • clear the account's local Sleep To It library from the device.

Some information may not be deleted immediately or may remain in limited circumstances.

For example:

  • information stored in backups or logs may remain temporarily;
  • information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution;
  • a non-readable, one-way account identifier may remain where necessary to safely resolve or block requests already in progress;
  • information maintained by independent service providers may be subject to their own retention practices;
  • subscription and transaction records may remain with Apple or other subscription-related service providers where necessary for subscription administration, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance; and
  • older content created through guest sessions may not be technically associated with your later account and therefore may not be identified through account deletion.

Deleting an individual sound from your local library is different from deleting your account and does not necessarily remove a server-side copy of generated audio.

You may also contact us at ryanvendr@gmail.com regarding a privacy or deletion request.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may provide you with rights regarding your personal information.

These may include rights to:

  • request access to personal information we maintain about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of certain personal information;
  • receive certain information about how personal information is collected, used, or disclosed;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • request a portable copy of certain information;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • appeal certain decisions regarding a privacy request.

These rights are subject to applicable law and may have exceptions.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

To exercise a privacy right, contact ryanvendr@gmail.com.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws.

Depending on the law and whether it applies to Sleep To It, these rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and information regarding categories of personal information collected or disclosed.

Sleep To It does not currently sell personal information for money or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising within the app.

If our practices change in a manner that creates additional rights to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling under applicable law, we will provide applicable choices and update this Privacy Policy.

12. International Users

Sleep To It is operated from the United States and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries.

If you use Sleep To It from outside the United States, your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live.

Where required by applicable law, we will rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing personal information, such as:

  • providing a service or feature you requested;
  • your consent;
  • compliance with a legal obligation; or
  • our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving Sleep To It, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use appropriate mechanisms.

13. Children's Privacy

Sleep To It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Sleep To It, please contact us at ryanvendr@gmail.com.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to address it.

Users who are minors but permitted to use the Service under applicable law should do so with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required.

14. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet service, storage system, or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple account, and other credentials you use in connection with Sleep To It.

15. Third-Party Websites and Services

Sleep To It may contain links to or interact with services operated by third parties.

This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party websites or services that operate independently from Sleep To It.

We encourage you to review their privacy practices before providing information directly to them.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Sleep To It evolves, our technology or service providers change, or legal requirements change.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above.

If changes materially affect how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
